Ingredients

  • 2530 clusters of lilac flowers
  • 1 kg sugar
  • 1 l water (4 ¼ cups)
  • 2 dl lemon juice (¾ cup + 1 tbsp)

Instructions

  1. Pick the flowers from the stalks and place them in a large bowl.
  2. Mix the water and sugar in a pot and bring to a boil. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  3. Pour the lemon juice and hot sugar water over the lilac flowers.
  4. Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for 2–3 days.
  5. When done, strain the liquid and pour it into clean bottles.
  6. Serve diluted with still or sparkling water, lemon, and ice. Enjoy!
