- 5 dl (2 cups) heavy cream

Instructions
- Pour the cream into a bowl and start whisking. You can use a hand mixer, stand mixer, butter churn, or whisk by hand.
- Continue whisking until the cream thickens into whipped cream, then keep going until it separates into butter and buttermilk.
- Strain off the buttermilk and transfer the butter to a bowl.
- Rinse the butter in a bowl with cold water and ice, gently pressing to remove any remaining buttermilk. This helps it keep longer.
- Add salt if desired, mix well, and shape or store as you like.
